Meeting rooms to hire in Newcastle upon Tyne

3 October 2020

This is something (pre-pandemic!) I always struggled with – finding meeting rooms in Newcastle upon Tyne, so here’s my list of venues now I’ve remembered to type my thoughts up.

Whilst our offices have meeting rooms and space available, it’s not always fit for purpose: for WordPress training courses or larger client meetings, I prefer a space more dedicated to their needs.

This is as much a reminder for me as a resource for others, so as usual for my blog, there are no affiliate links or tracking on any of my recommendations.

My favourite room hire spaces in Newcastle

Depending on the meeting type and number of participants, I like to use the following venues.

Room hire downstairs in their “Cinema” room is also available, suitable for @30 guests.
Tyneside Cinema 10 Pilgrim Street,
Newcastle upon Tyne,
NE1 6QG
£ – ££ Small meetings; board meetings Have lift Near Central Station and Metro Projector available in meeting rooms The cafe of this independent cinema can be a great meeting place outside of meal times, when it becomes lively (and noisy). The cinema itself also has a range of meeting rooms available for hire separately.

A little further away

If you’re not set on a city centre venue in Newcastle for your meeting, I like the following places:

  • Jesmond
    • Plenty of places on or near Osborne Avenue. I find Caffe 1901 quiet enough for meetings, and it’s only a short walk away from West Jesmond Metro station.
  • Gosforth
    • Plenty of pubs and cafes along the High Street; I find The Brandling Arms usually quiet enough for weekday meetings
  • Gateshead

Other room hire options

  • Regus – you can hire rooms from Regus for meetings, but I find their properties a little too corporate for my tastes!
