Skinning Blogger: designing blog templates eBook

3 October 2008

I’m not a huge fan of Blogger – in my mind, it’s on a par with MySpace design-wise (with the exception of Doug Cloud’s blog and a few others) – so I read Amanda Fazani’s ebook on skinning/templating Blogger, The Blogger Template Book, with interest, having written a book on skinning MediaWiki.

What the Blogger eBook covers

The book covers everything I’d expect it to from my cursory glances over it, and the writing style is welcoming and friendly. More experienced web designers may find it’s a bit slow in places, but it’s easy enough just to skip the easier bits, and it looks to me like there’s enough meat for more advanced designers, too.

From the basics of changing your logo to creating various layouts in Blogger (2 column, 3 column, etc), The Blogger Template Book goes in depth at optimising your Blogger website.

Thanks to Themeforest for the heads up on this ebook.
