Roy Edward Carter, 30th April 1951 — 31st July 2016. Born Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire. Died, Leicester.
He was a lifelong fan of Sir Isaac Newton (read a history of Sir Isaac Newton written by him here), and as part of Durham Cathedral’s “Adopt a Book” for restoration project, has an early edition of Newton’s Principia Mathematica in his memory:
“In memory of Roy E. Carter, 1951 – 2016.
A lifelong physicist and engineer, who owed his career to the work of Isaac Newton.”
